Jimmy’s passion for student empowerment, school design, and education policy began while he was a student at Summit Preparatory High School. Jimmy volunteered to assist Summit teachers during summer school and to work under then Executive Director Diane Tavenner on various projects; taken together, these experiences inspired Jimmy to pursue a career in education. With the generous support of the Gates Millennium Scholarship, he received a B.A. in Psychology and M.A in Educational Studies at Tufts University. Afterwards, Jimmy received an M.A. in Education and Single Subject Credential in the Teaching of English at the Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP) where he concentrated his studies on teaching heterogenous student populations and Complex Instruction. Jimmy taught English at Everest Public High School for four years. He is now the Executive Director at Everest Public High School.
