Best Fit College Night - Thursday, April 21 6:30-8pm at Everest

posted Apr 19, 2016, 1:06 PM by Linda Burt

On April 21st from 6:30 - 8:00 PM at Everest, we will be holding the last evening college event of the year.  One of our highlighted areas of growth in our parent survey this year was to better support parents in knowing how to prepare themselves and their student for the college application process. For this reason, the College Readiness team has put together an evening with autonomous breakout sessions meant to share important and relevant information on high priority topics: “College Support for First Generation/Undocumented Students,” “Paying for College,” “Supporting Students With Special Needs,” “Naviance 101,” Creating a Best Fit College List,” and how to target “Highly Selective Schools.”  We will also have a 12th grade student and mentor panel this evening to answer your most pressing questions and to provide anecdotal support for how to best strategize during the college admissions process.

This event is strongly recommended for all 10th and 11th grade families, but all grades are welcome to attend.

We hope to see you there!

Back to School Night - Part 2

posted Sep 7, 2015, 1:56 PM by Linda Burt

Please join us this Thursday night, September 10th, 7-8:30pm at Everest for Back to School Night Part 2. During Back to School Night Part 2,  parents will walk away with several key experiences:

  • An opportunity to mimic the student experience so that they leave with a strong understanding of a day in the life of their student.

  • Basic training in the PLP tool and learn how to follow and support their student’s progress towards the completion of their content assessments, projects, and personal academic plans and goals.

  • A chance to meet grade level teachers to ask grade specific questions and initiate sustained communication over the course of the year.

  • Meeting other parents to help grow our school community.
